Margaret Britt

MARGARET BRITT is an extremely versatile and accomplished musician/entertainer (lead guitar, bass guitar, harmonica and vocals).

Margaret formed the first Australian female group "THE VAMPS" and achieved International success touring in Noumea, Taiwan, Tahiti, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and the USA (appearing in 38 states including Las Vegas).

In Vietnam they received a plaque commemorating their courage for leading the first group to entertain at the front line.

During their six years in the United States they received the honour of being named BEST FEMALE VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL GROUP by the rock bible BILLBOARD.

The Vamps are not only mentioned at the Real Wild Child Exhibition at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum, but are also noted in the Australian Archives for Vietnam.

On returning to Australia Margaret formed PEACHES the first Australian all girl vocal and instrumental group to have a number one hit record with their single "Substitute". They topped the charts for 17 weeks and the Kent Report chose the single as one of the top 100 recordings.

PEACHES and THE VAMPS are also included in the Rock 'n' Roll Encyclopaedia of Australia. Margaret is also a multi Mo Award winner, having performed for 3 years with the production show THE FIFTYS.

Most recently she has performed solo at the Colonial Club Resort - Cairns, Radisson International Cairns, Mirage - Port Douglas and in New Caledonia at Club Med, (Hotel De La Plage - Poindimie and Koniambo Hotel Kone).
